Contest Description
In conjunction with the regular Poster Session, The Society of Rheology is sponsoring the Gallery of Rheology Contest session to highlight the visually
striking aspects of research in our community. Posters or prints with images of deformation, flow, material structure, and other work that emphasizes
visually engaging aspects of rheology are appropriate. The contest is open to both in-person and virtual meeting registrants.
The Gallery of Rheology Contest posters will be displayed in a designated area throughout the meeting and also at registrant-only pages of the meeting web app. To compete, in addition to the
abstract submission to the Gallery of Rheology Contest
session by Friday 13 August 2021, entrants will also need to submit a digital copy of their entry
through the Gallery of Rheology Contest Upload Site
by Friday 1 October 2021. For in-person participants of the meeting, bring a hardcopy that is no larger than 2 ft in width and 3 ft in height.
No video submissions will be accepted, but presenters may bring their own hand-held device to show any videos that supplement their poster.
A winner will be selected by popular vote at the conference and featured on the cover of the Rheology Bulletin. Winner needs to
be a registered attendee at the conference, but need not be present to win. If necessary, a colleague can put up the poster for them.
Submission Guidelines
To participate in the contest, entrants must following the following guidelines:

Entrants must submit abstracts of their entries through the normal web-based abstract submission
for the Gallery of Rheology Contest session by Friday 13 August 2021.

Entrants need to submit digital copies of their entries through the
Gallery of Rheology Contest Upload Site
by Friday 1 October 2021. The digital copy must be a PDF file not more than 40 MB.
The PDF file should be at least 600 dpi at a size of 8.5 in x 11 in (portrait), i.e. at least 5100 pixels width by 6600 pixels height. The submitted digital
copy should be identical to the hard copy brought to the meeting.

For in-person participants of the meeting, bring a hardcopy that is no larger than 2 ft in width and 3 ft in height. This is a smaller size (about half size) than
the posters in the Poster Session. The 2-ft horizontal limit is very important, as this is required to fit two posters on a single display board.

The authors of the winning entry, chosen by popular vote at the conference, will be invited to have their image on the cover of an issue of the Rheology Bulletin.
