SoR 92nd Annual Meeting: Call for Abstracts  (05-03-2021)

Dear Colleague,

The SoR 92nd Annual Meeting will be held in Bangor, Maine during the week of October 10-14, 2021. Abstracts for both oral presentations and posters must be submitted online; the online submission process is available at the abstract submission web app. The submission web app is also accessible from links through the SoR home page and the Bangor Meeting home page. The deadlines for submission of abstracts are Monday JUNE 7, 2021 for oral presentations and Friday AUGUST 13, 2021 for posters and the Gallery of Rheology.

Please note that the Annual Meeting is being planned as an in-person conference, while maintaining safety and social distancing measures. However, we know that pandemic-related limitations exist, and anticipate offering a limited virtual experience for members who cannot attend, including streaming plenary sessions, streaming the society business meeting, and participation in the Gallery of Rheology Contest. Further decisions will be made about other virtual components, such as uploaded pre-recorded lightning talks, as the conference approaches.

The Annual Meeting will have ten thematic sessions, a poster session (which includes the annual Student/Post-doc Poster Competition), and the Gallery of Rheology Contest. The plenary lectures will be given by Petia Vlahovska (Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics, Northwestern University), Michael Solomon (Chemical Engineering, University of Michigan) and the 2021 Bingham Medalist. A presentation will also be given by the 2021 Metzner awardee.

The planned sessions are as follows:
