SoR Outreach Event
Children's Museum of Houston

Over the last few years, the SoR Education Subcommittee has organized and run an extremely successful outreach event. Built off the experience and success of the outreach
events in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Denver and through the support of the AIP Venture Fund, we will again be running an outreach event in Houston ahead of The Society of
Rheology meeting. The outreach event will be held at the Children's Museum of Houston from 1 - 4 PM
on Sunday, October 14th. Suraj Deshmukh of Dow Chemicals is the local organizer for the event.
If you are interested in attending and helping out, please contact Jonathan Rothstein and he will add your name to the volunteer's list.
We are looking for between 20 and 30 volunteers at the outreach event so we are asking all those who are interested and will be in Houston at 1 PM on Sunday to please consider coming out
and giving a few hours to teach some kids about how much fun science can be. For all those of you based in the Houston area, please find the time to come. We promise you will enjoy it.
We are happy to have students, post-docs, faculty members and professionals help out. If you are coming, please plan to be at the
Children's Museum of Houston
at 12:30 PM so we can get you set up and introduce you to your demo. Ride shares from the conference hotel will be coordinated. We will have 10+ demos to present. If you have one of
your own that you would like to bring, please bring it along. We are excited to see you all there.

You will find instruction guides and movies to go along with each demo. As always, if you are interested in holding an outreach event in your own area, please contact me.
We have kits we can ship directly to you. All you will need to do is add water.
