Professor Jeffrey Giacomin is recognized for foundational contributions to the measurement and analysis of large amplitude oscillatory shear (LAOS) dynamics. His analytical solutions of continuum and molecular-based models have helped to interpret this important class of experiments. His broad range of interests also include important advances in plastics processing with advances in pipe extrusion and thermoforming. His role as a leader within The Society of Rheology has had great impact in the success of the Journal of Rheology and the publishing business of the American Institute of Physics.
