Rules Amendment to Add Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee – 2020

Amendment approved by membership votes certified 5 January 2021.

Message from the Secretary

Dear SOR member:

The SOR currently has an ad hoc committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This committee is very active; projects include our recent values statement on diversity, equity and inclusion, member surveys, the Rheology Research Symposium, a study on representation of diverse groups in publishing, and development of a process for harassment reporting at meetings. The executive committee of the Society feels that the issues addressed by this committee are of central and continuing importance to the Society, and wishes to establish a standing DEI committee. This requires a change to the SOR Rules, which can only be done by a majority vote of the members returning a secret and secure ballot.

In order to cast your secure ballot, please go to the website:
https://www.rheology.org/sorvote2/,
which is also accessible from mobile devices.

In order to vote, you must enter your email of record, which is:

along with your membership number, which is:

Votes must be received by Thursday, December 31st.

Thanks you.

Kal Migler

Secretary, SOR
