The technical program will include opening and closing plenary lectures, fourteen keynote lectures (including the Bingham lecture), contributed oral presentations organized into sixteen mini-symposia, and a poster session. Two short courses will be offered on the weekend before the Congress, August 2 - 3.

Oral Presentations

Authors should submit abstracts for oral presentation by November 15, 2007 using the abstract submission website. Authors will be informed of acceptance decision by February 1, 2008. See section on Congress Proceedings below regarding the submission of three-page manuscript.

Each registered participant will be limited to one oral presentation although multiple poster presentations will be permitted. Each speaker must register by April 15, 2008, otherwise the oral presentation will not be included in the program.

Poster Presentations

Prospective presenters for posters should use the abstract submission website to submit abstracts by February 29, 2008. Each poster presenter must register by April 15, 2008, otherwise the poster will not be included in the program.

Poster presenters need to bring hard copies of their posters to the Congress. The Congress organizers will not provide printing facilities at the meeting for posters. The maximum surface area of the posters is 44 inches high and 45 inches wide (111 cm by 114 cm).

Students are encouraged to participate in the Student Poster Competition.

Congress Proceedings

The Congress Proceedings will be published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP). Each participant will receive a fully functional, self-opening, full-text searchable CD ROM at the Congress. AIP will also publish an online version of the proceedings by the Congress. A bound volume can be purchased from AIP at additional cost.

Authors of oral presentations are strongly encouraged to submit a three-page manuscript. Submission of three-page manuscripts for poster presentations is optional. The deadline for receipt of three-page manuscripts in PDF format is April 15, 2008. See Manuscript Instructions for details of manuscript preparation.
