The Society of Rheology is offering student-member travel
grants to support the cost of attending the International Congress of
Rheology in Monterey. These grants are available to any graduate student who
is a member of the Society as of February 29, 2008, and whose faculty
advisor is also a member as of that date. In addition, the student must
coauthor a paper or present a poster at the meeting, and stay in one of the
conference hotels. We anticipate that each grant will cover up to a maximum
of three nights lodging at the conference rate. All students are eligible,
even if they have received an SOR travel grant in the past. To apply, the
student must write a letter requesting the grant; and the student’s advisor
should add a letter of support, certifying that both the advisor and the
student are members of the Society. Only one application per faculty advisor
will be accepted for this meeting. Letters from the student and advisor
