XIIth International Congress on Rheology

A MESSAGE FROM THE CONGRESS CHAIRMAN

Dear Colleague,

I am pleased to announce the XIIth International Congress on Rheology, which will be held at the Quebec Hilton and Convention Center, August 18-23, 1996.

The technical program will start on Monday morning, August 19,1996 with a plenary opening lecture and will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 1996. Keynote lectures, spread throughout the week, will be presented by several well known rheologists. The program will also include, but is not limited to, symposia on various topics of special interest. In addition, contributed papers will be presented and poster sessions, as well as an equipment exhibition, will be held. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings, which will be available at the opening of the Congress.

The registration fee will cover attendance at the technical sessions as well as two receptions, coffee breaks, a banquet, a whale watching trip that includes a lunch box and a dinner, and a copy of the Proceedings. Activities for accompanying persons will also be organized throughout the week.

Blocks of rooms, at preferred rates, have been reserved at hotels in Quebec City, as well as on the campus of Laval University

Many rheologists from all over the world have already confirmed their presence by returning the appropriate portion of the first circular. I hope that you too will plan to attend and my colleagues of the Canadian Rheology Group and I look forward to welcoming you in Quebec in 1996.
